XR – Extinction Rebellion

Saturday, January 25th, 5 to 7 pm Union Grove Distillery

43311 State Highway 28 (at the Arkville cutoff, Rte 38) Arkville, NY

Headed for extinction? It may be closer than you think. But there’s an exciting new worldwide movement of people who refuse to go gentle into that good night. For some, that means blocking roads; for some it’s laptops, emails and meetings; for some it’s supporting a relative or friend on the front lines. All of this is building toward the dramatic changes needed to avert a climate catastrophe.

Come hear some straight talk about the climate crisis, and learn what others are doing, and what you can do.

Dr. Art Weaver, an MD who holds a PhD in Biochemistry, former Cornell lecturer, and founder of Renovus Solar, will give the XR talk “Headed for Extinction (& What To Do About It)” Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight, And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay, Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height, Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray. Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
