New Household Energy Use Fact Sheets from the EIA

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has just released results from its 2009 Residential Energy Consumption Survey.

Household consumption profiles for 16 states, including New York, are available from their web site.

Detailed information on the fact sheets cover many areas of interest:

• Overall energy use, electricity use, and expenditures

• Residential consumption by end use (air conditioning, heating, appliances)

• Main heating fuel

• Use of cooling equipment

• Housing types and year of construction

• Numbers of TVs and refrigerators
