Check out a Cake Pan at Fairview Public Library in Margaretville!

If I knew you were coming, I’d have baked a cake.

Why wait for company to bake a cake? Bake one just for the fun of it.

Come in to the Fairview Public Library in Margaretville and check-out a cake pan. Really check it out: take it home, bake a cake, wash the pan and return it.

Take home a Raggedy Ann cake pan. Or a star or a frog or a teddy bear cake pan.

Susan Carver, the library director at Fairview Public Library, got the idea from reading a biography of a cat – named Dewey – that lived in a library in Iowa.

Besides having a mascot, this library had cake pans available for circulation. “What a great idea!”, she thought. Hence, the collection was started from a butterfly cake pan that Susan donated.

The butterfly begot others, which begot others. At this point, the Fairview Public Library has a total of ten specialty cake pans. Anyone with a Four County Library System card can borrow a pan for three weeks.

To learn more about the cake pan library, or to donate specialty cake pans to the library, contact Fairview at 845-586-3791 or mail@fairviewlibrary.org.
