The Catskill Center is dedicated to conservation in the Catskill Mountains and Catskill Park, and to creating opportunities for communities throughout the Catskill Region. Our unique balance of Regional Advocacy, Environmental Education, Promoting the Region, Arts & Culture programming, and Invasive Species work help to keep our region’s natural resources and communities vibrant.
The Catskill Forest Association promotes forest stewardship in the Catskill Region. We advocate quality forest management practices for the purpose of improving the health of the forest, preventing threats to the forest ecosystem and supporting conservation efforts.
Franklin Local, Ltd. is a not-for-profit volunteer organization of residents of the Town of Franklin, NY, and the surrounding areas. Franklin Local is dedicated to rebuilding the local economy, restoring community solidarity and raising awareness of the economic and social problems that are likely to result from the depletion of fossil fuels, the degradation of our local environment and the steady progression of global climate change.
For 30 years, MARK has provided housing programs, economic development and technical assistance services to the Towns of Andes, Middletown and Roxbury and the Villages of Fleischmanns and Margaretville. We work on economic development efforts in the areas of outdoor recreation and tourism, arts and culture, agriculture and forest products and alternative health and healing and on the business and social activities that support and sustain our communities. Our goal is to improve the lives of those who live and work here, to create an attractive destination for those who visit. We work to build the capacity of individuals, organizations, businesses and municipalities and provide resources that help them achieve their own per-determined goals.
The WIOX mission is to provide a freely accessible local resource for information, emergency communication and entertainment for residents, visitors, and others who interact with the rural communities of the Catskill Mountains and the New York City Watershed region; to operate a trans-media radio platform that supports education, community outreach efforts, economic development, and artistic expression in collaboration with local organizations such as school districts, non profits, businesses and other community stakeholders; and to remain a self-sustaining, non profit media enterprise that connects the towns, villages and hamlets of Delaware, Greene, Ulster and Schoharie counties to each other, to Upstate and City resources, and to the world.
